For 30 years, Richard Alpert was an Assistant Criminal District Attorney with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office in Fort Worth, Texas, where he specialized in the Prosecution of DWI and Intoxication Manslaughter cases. He is the author of four publications: Texas DWI Investigation & Prosecution (6th Edition), Intoxication Manslaughter Investigation & Prosecution (3rd Edition), The DWI Case Law Update (since 1992), and the NDAA - Basic Trial Techniques for Prosecutors in Impaired Driving Cases – (2019). From October 2011 through December 2016, he served as a Commissioner for the Texas Forensic Science Commission. Several of his high-profile trials have been the subject of True Crime shows. Since 2016, he has been an Adjunct Criminal Law Professor at Baylor Law School.
